A veteran of the Industrial Catering arena, Esther has been involved with several Companies at operational level. This includes Fedics; TsAfrika Catering Solutions and Sunburst as Senior Operations Manager. She recently joined TJ Roots as a founding member and has been developing operational excellence for the last 3 years.
With almost 35 years in the Hospitality trade Eunice learnt her people skills in the stressful environment of 5 star hotels. This was transferred to her own business “African Sisters” when BBBEE was just a thought on the horizon. A sale of her business brought her back into catering and has worked for both international and local companies before joining TJ Roots in 2015
An exciting new talent in the industry, Princess has worked her way quickly up to becoming a progressive Manger of her own unit. However her real appeal is the voting and management of the staff trust representing 26% of the rights within the Company. Princess has quickly grasped the intricacies of voting for the rights of 70 members!
Deena joined the Board in 2016 as a Non-Executive Director. He owns and manages an outsourced Financial Management Company called Rabani Financial Services contracted to TJ Roots. His keen financial grasp of the day to day accounts has ensured that TJ Roots have steered through the traditional growth cash flow constraints.
A Skillful Professional, Jeff Morcom, founded TJ Roots in 2012. Jeff is well known for his innovative concepts that shaped some of the landscape of the catering industry in South Africa. His commitment to sowing seeds for the future, alongside 30 years of industry experience, is the foundation of his firm and fair leadership style, coaching the TJ Roots team to live and achieve the company ethos and goals. Jeff’s understanding of each employee’s complexities ensures the absolute alignment of people and the companies objectives.
This is a specialised Division within TJ Roots and represents probably the biggest point of growth within the Company. That is the management of a comprehensive “free issue” solution within Corporate environments. The Division looks to deliver cost effective, premium product with an emphasis on high touch service.
Ensuring that we comply with the stringent HACCP and OHSACT regulations is our own H&S Policewoman Whanita-Mae Lombaard. Feared for her 100% dedication to compliance, she regularly achieves 90% and above for external audits held by Food Consulting Services. Training has been the key to achieving an extraordinarily high degree of standards across the Company and Whanita-Mae has managed to convert an onerous task into a daily habit.
Heading up our Food department, classically trained chef with more than 10 years industry experience, Pauli has worked in fine dining boutique style restaurants for the first part of her career, she travelled the world and brings home new innovation when joining the TJ Roots Team in 2017. Driving food quality through incoming ingredients & training.
Bridgette is an established talent and heads up our North-West Department. She worked her way up the ranks with sheer determination, with a humble start of her career in the scullery, working her way through companies like Fedics. Bridgette understands the challenges of the mining industry far from the city.
